The All for Nots Show

The All for Nots web show is created by Michael Eisner and written by Woodley Schneider, Matt Yeager and Andrew Wagner. The web show aired its first episode online on March 11, 2008. The producers of the show are Dinosaur Diorama, a production company specialized in the creation of serialized web movies. The company also created the internet sitcom The Burg.

The All for Nots web episodes are aired every Monday, and can be seen on mobile Verizon V CAST or on cable satellite HDNet. Available online through podcasting, the show has gained immense popularity on social platforms like Myspace. The idea of the sitcom is that an indie band can tour the country and conquer the World Wide Web as long as they don’t run out of gas. The funny tagline points to the fact that the production is marked as a comedy, with elements of documentary. Because it contains footage from behind the scenes of the band’s concerts, viewers get the sense of immediate reality. That is why some have labeled the production as a reality show.

The All for Nots show has a strong story about making it in the music industry and the sacrifices you have to make in order to get there. Members find themselves in situations where they have to choose between daily jobs that offer them the prospect of a secure financial future and their musical career, uncertain and full of spiritual rewards. In some episodes, members search for musical inspiration, in others they make wrong choices, get in trouble, take political stands or act out. The idea is to show a glimpse from the life of indie bands. Because they label themselves as independent and avoid signing contracts with record companies, indie punk and rock bands have to survive on their own, touring the country and exploring their talent. That is the point the show is trying to make: how far will you go for your passion.
