Web TV: “The All-for-Nots”
By Mojo Flucke (April 02, 2008)
It’s hard to believe that something so targeted, so calculated, so straight out of the wallet of ex-Disney mogul Michael Eisner could be so pretty awesome. But that’s exactly what the new Web-only sitcom The All-for-Nots is. It’s The Monkees and The Partridge Family all over again, 2008 style, with a little bit of self-deprecating Spinal Tap rock humor thrown in for good measure (for instance, they call themselves, in all seriousness, a “synth-pop-indie-electro-folk-emo- dance-gazer-punk-Americana-pop-progressive-rock” band). Everything You Totes Didn’t Need to Know About The All-for-Nots
By Jackson West (March 13, 2008)
What do you get when you combine a horny bassist and his groupie girlfriend, a laconic drummer with impulse control issues, a keyboardist with a fallback career in contract law and a frontman with ego issues that rival Anton Newcombe’s? Potentiating two of Williamsburg, Brooklyn’s most important cultural exports — post-punk pop and ironic self-awareness — The All-for-Nots has a shot at becoming the first true breakout, must-see hit of the web video generation. SXSW: All-for-Nots Perform, Launch Web Show
By Jenna Wortham (March 12, 2008)
AUSTIN, Texas -- Five aspiring musicians are recruited to form a band and tour the United States. Sounds innocuous enough, if not a little Spice Girls-y. The catch? They'll be portraying a fake band in a new web-based show dubbed the All-for-Nots. It may sound like the plot from '60s TV show The Monkees, but here the band is a made up of ultrahip indie rockers and the show will air exclusively online. More...

Hey, hey, it's the All-For-Nots, a made-for-the-Web rock band
By Adrian McCoy (March 09, 2008)
In the '60s, The Monkees started out making music as a made-for-TV band. Now it's time to meet the All-For-Nots, an indie rock band created for the Web. The online series "The All-For-Nots" is the story of a fictitious indie band on an ill-starred cross-country tour. Part sitcom, part rockumentary and part music video/performance, the series premieres today on HDNet and makes its wider launch Tuesday on the Web and at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music conference in Austin, Texas.
