Real Rock Band Bloopers

The All for Nots was a web show about the mishaps of a fictional rock band. This is a case of art imitating life, as many real rock bands have had their share of faux pas over the years, enough to fill an entire blooper reel and make Spinal Tap proud. Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath for instance was once arrested for urinating on the Alamo cenotaph while wearing a woman's dress, and as a result was declared persona non grata in San Antonio for ten years. Some of the blunders musicians make should be reported on pharmacy reviews rather than on Rolling Stone.

That is the case of Tom Kaulitz, guitarist of emo boy band Tokyo Hotel, who overdosed on Viagra even though he does not suffer from erectile dysfunction, at least as far as people know. Others, even tough they are teetotalers, seem to enjoy exposing their clumsiness on TV, as Kiss guitarists Gene Simmons when he faced complications stemming from a face lift on his reality show Family Jewels. Despite being a savvy business man, Simmons and his band have made some regrettable decisions, such as starring in the 1978 television film Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park.

Kiss were able to bounce back... and back again, which is more than can be said of Billy Squier, who is both famous for his hit song 'The Stroke', and infamous for the music video for another hit song 'Rock me Tonite'. In the latter, the singer/songwriter is shown prancing around in a pink and white getup. Although the song reach the number one spot on the U.S. Billboard Rock Tracks, the clip was considered so atrocious that it is sometimes credited with the downfall of Squier's career. He continued to record and tour, though not with the momentum that carried him through the 80's.
