About the Band
Straight outta Williamsburg, Brooklyn, The All-For-Nots are the next greatest indie-rock-pop-punk-Americana band. The All-For-Nots (or "AFN" as their true fans call them), are Johnny, Caleb, Paul, and Shirley - four Brooklyn rebels whose epic quest is to bring the masses their own brand of rock 'n roll (okay, and maybe to get famous in the process).
Johnny Hamilton, Guitars and Vocals (Blog)
- The main songwriter — but his songs always sound like whatever he was listening to earlier that day.
- Alternates between struggling to be the center of attention and hiding in the bathroom.
- Imagines that everybody in the audience is rabidly listening to / decoding the meaning of his lyrics. They are not.
- Makes all decisions in his life in terms of what the biographers will say thirty years from now.
Caleb Casabalanca, Bass (Blog)
- The consummate brooding rock star, constantly upstaging Johnny and getting all the girls' attention without even doing anything.
- Obsessed with style over content, would rather write a fun song than a meaningful one. Would rather people dance than listen.
- He often becomes consumed by the devil-may-care, hard partying rock star lifestyle he thinks he should have, sometimes putting his own selfish needs above the band's. But deep down he is loyal at heart... probably.
Paul Silverzweig, Keyboards (Blog)
- On vacation from his job at a law firm, which became his second dream after his parents told him music wouldn't work out.
- Has a fiancée named Heather who could have married any lawyer in the world, but opted for him.
- Haunted by his BlackBerry, and taking the opportunity to do something nobody would ever let him do: wear a T-shirt.
Shirley Burke, Drummer (Blog)
- Doesn't speak much, which leads some to believe that still waters run deep — which is not necessarily true.
- Seems to be deathly afraid of interaction with the rest of the world, but also mysteriously obsessed with pop culture.
- Sometimes stares at her hands for hours.
Farrah M, Groupie / Guest Singer / Tambourine (Blog)
- Caleb's girlfriend of a month and a half (a record), invited on tour at the last minute.
- Fashion school dropout, party girl, free-spirit, charisma-magnet, and heart of gold wrapped in a silver lame dress.
- Blissfully unaware of why she breaks so many hearts, and thoroughly unprepared for the real world.
Larry Hu, Manager (Blog)
- Got his job at a small record label by hanging around unpaid until he annoyed them so much they hired him as the guy who leaves the office to find bands.
- Imagines himself to be the fifth member of the band. Lives with his Mom and gets into frequent fights with her.
- Has absolutely everything riding on making AFN a household name; has no idea how to do that.
